The Slackers - Singles

Schooling the Youth 12"

Germany 12" Select Cuts SC6020, released 2002

This EP was released in Germany as a sampler for the Slackers & Friends album. I have had a hard time tracking one of these down. When I have seen it sold, it has not sold for much. It can be pretty tough to get, though.

International War Criminal

U.S. CD - Thought Squad Y911Y, released 2004

The Slackers are not shy about writing politically-charged songs, and this CD EP is probably the least subtle example of that. Good Stuff. CD only.

You Must Be Good b/w You Must Be Good Dub

Japan 7" - Ska in the World SIWI 046, released 2005

This is what I get...both for being out of the game for too long, and for allowing too much time to pass between Japan visits. Things like "Ska in the World" happen. This Japanese label began to release a whole host of ska albums and singles, some original, some that had been previously released elsewhere. Part of this massive wave of releases has been a steady stream of very limited 7"s (limited to 300 copies in most, if not all, cases). This was the first single that started making collecting Slackers vinyl difficult. Ska in the World released three different Slackers singles. Black vinyl.

Slackers Ska in the World single #2. Limited to 300 copies, all on black vinyl. Both tracks appear on the Boss Harmony Sessions disc.

Yer Still Blue b/w Mama Told Me

Japan 7" - Ska in the World SIWI 069, released 2007

The third Slackers Ska in the World 7". Limited to 300 copies, all on black vinyl. For no apparent reason, this one appears to be slightly more difficult to find than the other two. Both tracks appear on the Boss Harmony Sessions CD.

Minha Menina b/w No More Cryin' (ska version)

Brazil 7" - Music With Soul! MWS-001, released 2007

Minha Menina was a Brazil-only release, limited to 550 numbered copies on black vinyl. It is actually not that difficult to find, but it can be a little costly (mainly due to the postage paid to get it to anywhere other than Brazil).

Hanukkah 7"

U.S. 7" - Asbestos ASB043, released 2009

Yep...that happened. The Slackers do Dreidel (and a dub mix of the same on the b-side). Released on solid blue vinyl (500 copies), baby blue vinyl with white splatter (300 copies), and white vinyl with blue splatter (200 copies). Still relatively easy to find, but will soon be tough to locate.

New Year's Day b/w New Year's Dub

U.S. 7" - Urban Pirate UPR-008, released 2010

The Slackers cover U2. It works. Released in late 2010 (just in time for New Year's Day...). The clear vinyl is pretty limited (I read 200 copies on one site). Interpunk sold all of those a while back. They still have the black version.
