Kill Rock Stars. One of the more legendary indie labels of the time, and this was the first in a series of three awesome compilations of theirs (Rock Stars Kill and Stars Kill Rock being the other two). It contained a Nirvana track that was briefly exclusive, but was released on Incesticide the next year. The original pressing of this comp had a screen-printed sleeve signed and numbered by the artist, Tinúviel. In pencil. It's really hard to see. I took a close-up picture. I didn't even see it initially when I bought it. This one held a good value for a long time, but has come down in recent years. Seems to be a pattern with the rarer Nirvana-related comps. I don't fully get it.
The album was re-pressed a couple of times with a regular, non-screen-printed sleeve. There was a label variant somewhere along the way on which the text was bigger, filling more of the labels. All of the above were on black vinyl and, aside from the first pressing, are easy to procure.
Many years later, in 2011, they did a limited, numbered, 20th anniversary re-press for Record Store Day. There were 2,000 of those made. They are easy to find. Then, in 2013, also for Record Store Day, a triple cassette version came out (containing all three of the aforementioned Kill Rock Stars compilations). This was limited to 500 numbered copies, and was kind of a tough that year. It was a little expensive initially, but I think there weren't enough cassette enthusiasts who were also interested in this release, and it ended up being pretty inexpensive on the secondary market.
