Simple Machines SMR 4.5 7", released 1991 (U.S.)
The Headringer EP is THE classic Tsunami single. It was their first vinyl release, five strong tracks. I have no idea why it is called "Headringer." That title does not appear anywhere on the record or sleeve. However, that is what Simple Machines has always called it in their catalogues and on their website. It used to sell for a decent price, but it seems that the prices on all Tsunami records have come way down in recent years. I have come across two versions of this single: one with a sleeve with pink as its main accent color (supplemented with green) and one with green as its main accent color (supplemented with a blue/purple). The pink one has a loose insert with it, which has green and pink accent colors. The green one has the same insert, but smaller and attached to the sleeve. If I had to guess, I would say that the pink accent sleeve came first - the green one has less clear images. It looks partially photocopied. Aaaaand while we're at it, the labels on the two versions were printed with different colored ink. The pink sleeve corresponds to labels with red print, the green to purple print. Confused yet? Don't worry about it...if you are collecting, just look for the two different sleeves. One last thing...this will become a common refrain throughout these entries, but all of these tracks appeared on the World Tour and Other Destinations CD.
