Rocket from the Crypt

Love Is Lies

Swami SWA 145 7", released 2013 (UK)

In 2013, Rocket from the Crypt returned for a brief tour, and with it, brought us a collector's nightmare. They released an exclusive 7" at each show of their UK and Ireland tour. Each one featured a cover of a band from the city. They called the series "Rocket from the Crypt HITS! The Monkey Islands". Each single was limited to 400 copies each. Very ambitious and cool idea, but again...rough for collectors. Fortunately (for me), they took the leftovers and sold them as six-packs during their sibsequent U.S. tour. Individually, these each generally go in the $40-50 range now.

The 7" featured here was the first in the series: "Love Is Lies", a Buzzcocks cover, sold at the Manchester show on December 1, 2013. 400 copies on red vinyl.
