Rocket from the Crypt
I thought this single's story was cut and dry...at first. It was always very simple - black and clear copies existed, with the clear copies much rarer and more expensive. There have been different reports of the pressing numbers, but we don't know the actual numbers. Norm made contact with the owner of Drunken Fish, and to his memory, there were 1,200 black and 300 color copies, but did not fully recall. Those figures seem way low to me, especially for the clear vinyl copies, which are fairly common.
Here's the fun part: a red copy surfaced. Thanks to Norm, who unearthed this one...I had always suspected that there were pink copies floating around, as many of the clear copies have streaks of pink mixed in. Anyway, I have no idea how many red ones are actually out there. I do know it is very few. I have now seen two pink copes as well - these are clearly mixes of clear and red vinyl, and the effect is pink. The one in the pics below actually appears much more solidly pink throughout than the scan would indicate. The values listed for the red and pink copies are purely conjecture. Blame Norm...this was all straightforward until he got involved.
