Rocket Pack

Cut It Loose b/w Glazed

Pusmort 200772 7", released September 1991 (U.S.)

I don't care what hard core collectors tell you their prize is - the Rocket Pack is still the holy grail of Rocket from the Crypt collecting. Released by Pushead (this will be a recurring theme here) as part of his fan club, it was limited to 75 copies. Another 30 were made for the band. All were hand-numbered and signed by Pushead. Many were on pink marble vinyl, but some ranged into the red category. Most of the redder ones ended up being used for the Septic Death split. Supposedly, there were a couple (literally, i.e. TWO) on white vinyl. Don't hold out for those...I don't even know if they actually exist. A handful of one-off versions have surfaced over the years, numbered "1/1." One collector told me about a version that they have that was made for Tim Yo of Maximum Rocknroll. There was also a version that showed up on eBay some years ago with a unique sleeve that had orange accents (labeled "orange 1 of 1"). The vinyl was the normal pink. It sold for a lot.

The price for the Rocket Pack was starting to come down a bit in late '00s, but shot right back up to more astronomical territory in years since. The sleeve was awesome for this one - it had a semi-standard foldover paper sleeve, but then also came with a felt rocket, which folded around the whole package. Good times. Definitely the crown jewel of my Rocket collection.
