Rocket from the Crypt

Rocket Pack

Cut It Loose b/w Glazed

Pusmort 200772, released September 1991

I don't care what hard core collectors tell you their prize is - the Rocket Pack is still the holy grail of Rocket from the Crypt collecting.  Released by Pushead (this will be a recurring theme here) as part of his fan club, it was limited to 75 copies.  Another 30 were made for the band.  All are hand numbered and signed by Pushead.  Many are on pink marble vinyl, but some range into the red category.  Most of the red ones ended up being used for the Septic Death split. Supposedly, there are a couple (i.e. TWO) on white vinyl.  Don't hold out for those.  A handful of one-off versions have surfaced over the years, numbered "1/1."  One collector told me about a version that they have that was made for Tim Yo of Maximum Rocknroll (I have never seen pictures of this one).  There was also a version that showed up on eBay a couple of years ago with a unique sleeve with orange accents (labeled "orange 1 of 1").  The vinyl was the normal pink.  It sold for a lot.

The price for the Rocket Pack was starting to come down a bit in 2007, but shot right back up to more astronomical territory in years since.  It seems to have settled into the $800 - $1000 range now.  The sleeve is great for this one - It has a semi-standard foldover paper sleeve, but then it also comes with a felt rocket, which folds around the whole thing.  Good times.  Definitely the crown jewel of my collection.
