The Toasters

Beat Up

The Beat b/w Brixton Beat

Ice Bear/Moon Records - Toast 1/Toast 2 7", released 1984 (U.S.)

Assigned "MR001" number in later Moon catalogues

Megalith MEV005 7", released 2014 (U.S.)

The inaugural Toasters single. This one started it all. It was actually released on Ice Bear Records, but was assigned Moon catalogue numbers - Toast 1 for side A and Toast 2 for side B. I recall it being a pressing of 1,000 copies, but I don't remember where I got that. This is a difficult record to find, though it has shown up more often in recent years. It stayed in a consistent price range ($40-50) for many years, but has come down a bit.

In 2014, Megalith re-pressed the Beat Up single on grey marble vinyl and white vinyl. They used leftover sleeves from the original pressing. Limited to 500 copies (though some sources say 250).
