As I mentioned in the write-up for the Skankin' to the Beat 7" that came from this album, the presence of Fishbone plays a big role in this movie, more because John Cusack was a fan than anything else. In addition to the various t-shirt appearances and the background music, the special edition of the DVD informs us that, in the boom box scene, he's actually playing the In Your Face cassette. The soundtrack features a great version of "Skankin' to the Beat" (different from the one that appeared on the "Party at Ground Zero" single). The album did come out on vinyl in several countries, in addition to a bunch of CD versions. The Australian version may have just been a promo - it's very rare. The Brazilian version is pretty rare as well. The U.S. versions are not rare, but they are not super cheap, either.
2021 saw the release of an expanded edition of this soundtrack, which was a double album. This one contained another Fishbone track, "Turn the Other Way" - the same version that appears on In Your Face. There were black and red vinyl versions of the expanded soundtrack. There's also a special promo edition of 100 copies on glow-in-the-dark vinyl.
