A Record Collector's Guide

Rocket from the Crypt: Rocket Pack Owner's List

This is going to be a fun project. This page is designed to track the very limited number of Rocket Pack 7"s that are out there in circulation.  One thing that I am very curious about is the number of pink copies vs. the number of red ones. If you own one and would like to contribute to the project, please .

Fan Club Version (/75)

The original Pushead Fan Club Rocket Pack...75 copies of record collecting gold. Here are the ones I have tracked so far:

1/75

Owner: Erin Harmon

5/75

Color: pink

Cost: $873.00

Story: eBay - 8/4/09.

18/75

Color: red

Owner: Ditch

Location: Southern OR/New Oreleans, LA

Cost: $650.00

Story: eBay - 8/11/03. Stolen from a loyal collector's storage unit in 2009, then remarkably recovered after it surfaced on eBay, due to a seller who now has good karma for life.

23/75

Color: pink

Owner: John Pette

Location: Central America

Cost: $530.00

Story: eBay - 6/8/07. After watching a couple sell on eBay for (even more) obscene sums, I decided it was time to get in the game. I sold off two copies of a rare record I had that I didn't like, and that turned out to finance most of it ($450 of it).  Of course, I still wasn't going anywhere near that $960 benchmark, but I thought I could place a decent bid. I got lucky. The market came down a little. I have not seen one sold since.

33/75

Color: red

Cost: $630.00

Story: Sold twice on eBay in the past few years. 1. 12/11/05 2. 2/11/06

42/75

Color: red

Cost: $621.00

Story: eBay - 11/15/04

51/75

Color: pink

Owner: Norm Bourgeois

Location: LA

Cost: $1000.00

Story: Purchased 11/2009 from a private seller. This one is a little screwy, because Sebastiaan D'hertoge in Belgium claimed to own it as well. Perhaps he was mistaken. The previous owner told me he'd had it for a long time. Sebastiaan originally told me this: "The previous owner bought it off a band member a few years ago before passing it on to me (this is the copy listed on the old rftc disco site), it was pretty hard to get it off him as he originally wanted over $1000 for it. After some thoughts about whether i would find another one or not, i got an email from the owner if i would be into trading, all in all i traded about $700 worth of records for the rocket pack 7"." Norm sent pics. I believe him. Sebastiaan may well have a copy, but not this copy.

Band Version (/30x)

30 copies were set aside as "band versions." They are even harder to find than the normal one.

4/30x

Color: pink

Cost: $960.00

Story: eBay - 3/25/07

5/30x

Color: pink

Owner: Tim Bornemann

Location: NJ

Cost: $325.00

Story: Acquired 1996-ish in a blind online auction before eBay entered the picture.

Other Versions

Some other copies of the Rocket Pack single may be floating around out there. I know of one:

"Tim Yo Version" 1/1

Owner: Erin Harmon

Orange Version 1/1

Color: pink

Cost: $1226.11

Story: eBay - 1/10/10. This one-off sleeve variation showed up on eBay in early 2010.  It has some orange accents, and is labeled as Orange 1/1 on the numbered part of the sleeve. Sure, it would be kind of cool to have a unique version, but...for a record this rare, every version is a unique version. Now, if the VINYL were orange, that would be a different story...
