The Afghan Whigs

Live at Howlin' Wolf EP

Columbia CSK 41452 CD, released 1997 (U.S.)

Live at Howlin' Wolf was a fantastic EP, documenting four songs from one of the Whigs' more legendary performances. Between tours, the Whigs decided to play one show in 1997, and it was in New Orleans. This EP features their cover of Curtis Mayfield's "If There's Hell Below," along with live versions of "Blame, Etc.," " Going to Town" (with a little of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" thrown in), and "Debonair." This was a promo-only EP and was really tough to get in the pre-eCommerce world. It got fairly expensive there for a little while, but came way down once eBay gained prevalence.
